Dance to express our multidirectional abilities.
- Par : Freecorpus
As a graduate of CNSMDL, a recognized Master’s program (bac+5) that requires an entrance exam, I have had the opportunity to deeply immerse myself in the world of dance. Holding a State Diploma as a Dance Teacher, I have also taught in Conservatories. However, my trajectory changed when I realized the abuse that choreographic artists endure in the professional sector IN France, often treated as mere poorly compensated objects. This awakening naturally led me to create Free Corpus, a space dedicated to the flourishing of kinesthetic intelligences through biomechanical, danced, and creative work. For over 30 years, I have been exploring and sharing this passion, fueled by respect, rigor, kindness, and love for my students.
Sommaire
The contributions of biomechanists Odile Rouquet and Blandine Calais Germain
Dance has seen the emergence of prominent figures such as Odile Rouquet and Blandine Calais Germain, who have revolutionized our understanding of movement. Their work has not only enriched my own knowledge but has also formed a solid foundation for many body educators, physiotherapists, and osteopaths. Their scientific approach has uncovered the subtleties of movement, thus influencing generations of choreographic artists. In contexts like my performances at the Opera or the Corum in Montpellier, the regular presence of physiotherapists has testified to the interconnection between art and science, with the study and collaboration with choreographic artists providing valuable contributions to the field of rehabilitation.
A space for everyone
Leveraging my experience, I have created training sessions that transcend simple gym workouts, blending movement influenced by dance, Pilates, and biomechanics. These sessions welcome those who feel uncomfortable in their bodies, offering them the opportunity to access the well-being provided by movement, without needing to dance or engage in traditional sports. This underscores the importance of developing each individual’s body and kinesthetic intelligence, according to their possibilities.
I find it unacceptable to distance choreographic artists from the therapeutic and sports worlds, especially since they are already leading dance therapy workshops in nursing homes and hospitals. Studies show that these interactions with dance bring tangible benefits to both the physical and psychological health of participants. Dance therapy sessions have proven effective in reducing anxiety and depression, thereby improving the overall well-being of patients.
Towards a transforming world
Expert choreographic artists represent an invaluable creative resource capable of enriching fields as varied as sports, medicine, and new technologies. Their expertise in movement analysis and research can transform our approach to health and well-being. By integrating these talents into sports and medical initiatives, we foster a fertile exchange that benefits everyone.
In conclusion, I strongly encourage you to join me for an in-depth exploration of the new dimensions represented by the PPPH techniques, Slide Floor FC, and In’M. Together, we can discover the immeasurable benefits they offer and enrich our experiences. Our collaboration could mark the beginning of a transformative journey. Please feel free to contact me for more information and to embark on this enriching path together.
